Best Bid Best Offer

BBO data — highest bid and lowest offer per symbol from each ATS.

Each Alternative Trading System (ATS) best price per symbol will either enter manually their inside price or BBO. The Best Bid and Ask Price (BBO) in the context of securities trading market data refers to the highest price a buyer is willing to pay for a security (bid) and the lowest price a seller is willing to accept (ask or offer) at a given time.

  • Origin — the MPID of the Alternative Trading System (ATS) or market maker adding the quote.
  • Symbol — the symbol for the BBO data entered.
  • Quote Condition
    • "C" Automated Bid and Ask, "B" if manual on the bid, "A" if manual on the offer, and "H" if manual on both the bid and ask.
  • Bid MPID — the Market Participant ID that is the quote source of the price.
  • Bid Qty — share size available at the bid price.
  • Bid Price — the bid price for the bid MPID.
  • Time Date Entered — time the order was entered.
    • The system should time stamp the entry time automatically.
  • Offer MPID — the Market Participant ID that is the quote source of the price.
  • Offer Qty — share size available at the offer price.
  • Offer Price — the offer price for the offer MPID.
  • Time Date Entered — time the order was entered.
    • The system should time stamp the entry time automatically.
  • Universal Transaction ID (UTI) — generated by DORRS when the transaction is recorded and stored in the system. The field is grayed out in the entry form.
